"It is still winter and the dominating colour - given that the sun is shining and we can see a cloudless sky - is ice blue. This wonderful bright & blue colour, which causes a feeling of iciness, is our theme. Show us your ice blue ATCs!" Think Monday ATC----WOMEN IN ART

Judith Leyster(1609-1660)
Leyster was extremely successful in her day as a portrait and genre specialist. Little is known about her early training but she was mentioned in about about Haarlem as being a local artist. In her early twenties she became the only female member of the Haarlem painters' guild and soon had students of her own. Even though her work is closely identified with that of Hals, their relationship remains unclear. What is known is that she successfully sued Hals for a breach of ethics after he took on one of her students........

My hero is all the people who are afflicted with various disabilities who overcome their handicaps....they believe in themselves.

In mythology, the night from April 30 to May 1 is Walpurgisnacht or Beltane. Walpurgisnacht is a Germanic tradition, whereas Beltrane is a Celtic tradition. Anyway, it’s the night of the witches so I made an ATC for the challenge at " Think Monday ".
