Door County Wisconsin

Corn Maze survivors.....WE MADE IT!

We are almost at the end of this years camping season. This past weeks trip took us to Door County, Wisconsin. While traveling North we noticed the leaves were already beginning to change color and pumpkin decorations appeared everywhere in Door County. We and 18 other Winnebago coach's from our Windy City Winnie's Club stayed in Sturgeon Bay at Harbour Village Resort.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Schopf's Hilltop Dairy Corn Maze. It offered 3 levels of Mazes and naturally we did the advance, had so much fun that we tried our hand on another one also.
The Log Den in Egg Harbor, Wis. This restaurant took 10 years to build and all the logs were handcrafted to fit together like Lincoln Logs, no nails were used. All the doors and post images of animals are craved into the logs. Brunch here was excellent, may I add.Motorcycle Memorial (1st of its kind) dedicated to all those who loved to ride, located in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. For more information: email: memorial 4bikers@gmail.com

All in all we had another fun week, for we also attended a local festival, visited and took a tour of a winery, went to a fish fry and had a potluck dinner and a camp fire.

Galena & Jo Daviess County

We experienced the vintage charm and contemporary spirit of Galena and the Jo Daviess County this past week on our adventure of touring places of interest : It had rolling hills, historic sites and unique shops. We browsed in antique stores, art galleries, boutiques and specialty stores and yes I did find a scrapbook store in which I purchased some ribbons and stamps to add to my collection.
I also fell in love on this trip with a distinctive line of furniture , acessories and art objects that we viewed in one of the stores designed by Sticks....a wish list item!

It's Not The Destination....

It will be the journey that our new motor home will take
us on in the up coming years. Yes, we took the plunge and opened a new door of adventure and purchased a brand new Winnebago 2008 Motor Home this past month.
Our first trip was to Branson, Mo and I already started scrap booking our first camping experience which we all enjoyed tremendously with little difficulty. We stayed at a camp ground
called Shenanigan's R.V. Park which was minutes from all the
shows, outlet shopping, museums and (yes I found them) scrapbook stores.
Some of the attractions we took in where the Shoji Tabuchi Show, Baldknobber Jamboree Show, The Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, the Titanic Museum and The Wax Museum.
So Many Roads So Little time.......
