Wednesday Stamper---Gothic Arch

The challenge this week at Wednesday Stamper it to make a Gothic Arch. This is my first attempt to ever make one. The scanning process doesn't pick up on all the gold highlights that I feel add to this piece (center of each flower has gold glitter & her kimono is trimmed in gold).

The concept for this card came from a card I viewed on the site called "self-addressed". I have used this layout using the calendar stamp, and then changing the year stamp to various sentinments......HappyBirthday, Good Luck, etc.

Illustration Friday......Soar

The assignment was to use any justjohanna image to create a project fitting this week's "Illustration Friday" theme: Soar. This is my entry for it, called: My Heart Soars.

A "Thank You" card I created for my Secret Santa ( Hilary) that I had this year who spoiled me royally with scrapbook papers, embellishments plus a gift card for Starbucks.

I've been purchasing kits from " Self-Addressed" for sometime now, which is a Card and Mini Album online store. Each month I receive a kit which has several sheets of patterned papers, card stock, stamps and embellishment to make a project. Above is a card that I made from this month kits which featured patterned paper by Chatterbox.

Cotton Fields of Alabama

These layouts are not totally finished but I wanted to show everyone what I've been working on........
Here are two layouts the first of which shows a photo that hangs in the Adams family home showing what picking cotton was like years back. The other is a photo of me experiencing my first cotton picking experience and the fruits of my experience to show the grand kids. The next layout is a picture of the family homestead that they name the "Plezarosa", and a photo of some pecans growing on one of the many trees that still produce on the farm. I also picked some to bring back for my holiday baking this season.

4 X 4 Friday--Blue and Silver

I've been fortunate to have had 5 cards published in Stampers' Sampler Take Ten --Winter 2008 Magazine. The cards are above or can been seen on pages, 100 (Different Point of View card names: Bonne Annee, Saint Roch, Floral Dream), 44 (My Country card) and 34 ( Lemons) in the magazine.

November Card Sketch

Saturday Stampers--Tone on Tone

This week’s theme for our stamping project is “Tone on Tone”. We are to take one colour, any colour, and use different shades of that colour in our project. Everything as in inks, papers and embellishments should be tones of the same colour. I am using Basic Grey Figgy Pudding: patterned paper; Bazzill: card stock; Chatterbox: ink; Sheer Creations: Ribbon; Stamp: unk
This I feel is one of those card that looks better hands on to see the softness of the colours. I will admit also that I found this a challenge also for I'm not found of tone on tone cards generally.

4 x 4 Challenge---Trees

For the 4 x 4 challenge this week, I chose to do a Christmas card, using scrap paper from MME and shaping it into a tree. Other products used are Doodlebug Sugar Paper, Bazzill card stock and a rub-on from Melissa Frances.

Theme Thursday - “boys”

This week’s theme is “boys”! I'm to use a “boy” image somewhere in my art! Having a shortage of male images I was limited to what I could do for this theme, but I found this stamp by: JRL Designs in my stash and with the help of "elsie's patterned paper" I came up with this funky but sweet card.

This card was made using a sheet of transparency for my card base. Patterned paper: Basic Grey, Snowflake punch: Martha Stewart. Glitter paper (for snowflakes), Ribbon: May Arts.
