How Sad...Another Store Closing

Late last night I got an email from my local scrapbook store "Scrap n Crazy" saying they will be closing their doors, and a going out of business sale will be in progress. How I hate to see another small business close down from lack of support from local residents who favor the big chain stores. Also the other stores who infringe on other retail business, like food stores, hardware stores to name a couple who now carry scrapbooking supplies and take business away from the "mom and pop" stores.
I'm going to be lost without my local hangout, not only for the shopping, but the friendships that were forming. I'll miss you Brenda and Leah and many of your clients. Wishing you the best.

Christmas Gift Arrived

My Christmas Gift this year finally arrived yesterday a Boos Kitchen work station. As you can see the table already has been put to use in my kitchen.....kisses to DH for it!
I had seen these tables at Williams-Sonoma and fell in love with them and I knew it would just finish off my kitchen.

justjohanna Virtual Swap

A virtual swap is one where we all use the same image(s) on a card, but we only have to make ONE card. For this swap, we can use the regular Eiffel Tower or the mini Eiffel Tower stamps by justjohanna. We can also add any other justjohanna stamps, but the Eiffel Tower must be the main focus of the card. The card can be for any occasion, using any colors. The card is then put into the justjohanna gallery (http://justjohanna.com/) .......this is the card I posted

Step Outside Your Box Saturday

Acrylic paints is our first challenge on "Step Outside Your Box Saturday". We must use 3 different colors of acrylic paint on our piece. One can use a paint brush to apply it, your fingers, a sponge, a balled up piece of wax paper, cling wrap, whatever you have handy. I chose to use a sponge on my edges and my flowers are done using foam pieces shaped into a flower. Not having worked with acrylic paints this was a challenge.
