Another Challenge Card for Earth Day....

This challenged is to re-use packaging material into a project.  I used scrap chipboard as a base for a post card project.  Stamps used Odd Bird Planet and Artful Illusions.

If you scroll down you will see several other challenges I completed for Earth Day.

Challenge Cards for Earth Day

Kat's challenge was for us to re-use plastic.  I chose to use my scrap plastic from packaging as window panes in my work.  Unfortunately in scanning you can't see the glass like appearance it has.

Published in SS Catch Up Issue

Once again I had the honor of having a card published in Stampers' Sampler Catch Up Issue, 2009
I love this issue of the magazine because it shows a sample of the vast amount of cards that the magazine gets for publications from us stampers.  I feel this is a great magazine for inspiration whether your new to stamping or a veteran.  (the Paris card in the middle is mine)

Color Pencil with Medaris

Recently I sat in on a lecture/class by Terry Medaris in Mesa, Arizona were he demonstrated working with color pencils.  So I got out my limited supply of prismacolor pencils and started practicing this week using his technique on color blending.  The results are above using prismacolor pencils and stamps by Terry Medaris.   Its a far cry from his work but I believe a step in the right direction on working with pencils.

Shaking My Tail Feathers

That's what I'm doing shaking my tail feathers for I just had a card published in RubberStampMadness Magazine.  The calls was for Seeing Red and mine was one of the 11 cards they chose to publish.  Each card is so unique and different using the color red.

Theme Thursday-Sewing

This weeks theme at Theme Thursday is sewing.  I chose to use a stamp by River City Rubber Works and patterned paper to achieve a look of different swatches of fabric.

What SnowBirds Do........

Here are a few pictures what I've been doing the past several weeks while I've been off line......
Group of our fellow campers from Illinois who we joined this year, who have been going to the Mesa Regal Resort for several year now. Here we pose for a photo before going in and view the play Singing In The Rain. (from left to right... I'm the 7th one in Yellow in the back roll)
Hubby at one of the many pool on the premises. (heated pool 85 deg.)
As snow birds we really enjoyed our stay in Mesa, Arizona.  The grounds were beautiful and each campsite had their own fruit tree.  The amenities and activities are too numerous to mention, that if one said they were bored it was their own fault.  We had so much fun we already put a deposit down for next year for a 3 month stay. Is it January already????? Can't wait to return!

Artwork that graces the walls of the Painted Desert Inn a National Historic Landmark.
View of the Painted Desert is spectacular, this is only one of the cliffs that can be seen.
Petrified Forest National Park  ( Jerry and I stand among the petrified logs)
One of the many pieces of art work that lines the streets of  Downtown Mesa, Arizona.
Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Canyon, Texas is 120 miles long and 800 feet deep, and is the second-largest canyon in the United States.
Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Missouri.... This is a Ministry of Art, hosting 84 Biblical Hand Painted Murals, 30 Verses and Stories in Stained Glass, The grounds also has the largest Precious Moments gift shop.   Art work done bySamuel J. Butcher
